Milwaukee Road Round-Roof Single Door Boxcar

$69.95

Add excitement to your “fallen flags” trains with this CMStP&P “Round-Roof” single door boxcar. Originally built in 1933 by the PRR, and with many railroads following suit, the boxcar was adopted by the American Railway Association (ARA) which merged into the Association of American Railroads (Oct. 1934) and were built through 60’s.

The Milwaukee Road rebuilt a wrecked boxcar in 1934 as a test to see if they could build a welded steel boxcar, and ONLY ONE was built which employees called the “Wagon Top”. Because of the high cost and excess weight of this car’s steel shell the Milwaukee car shops came up with a better design which was the beginning of the rib sided boxcar and used well into the 70’s.

Minimum 0-31 curve. Length: Approx... 11 ¼ ”

This classic boxcar was developed in association with the Milwaukee Road Archives, Milwaukee-Lionel Railroad Club, Inc. members and will be manufactured by Lionel LLC (#6-58563). Included will be die-cast sprung trucks and magnetic operating couplers, die-metal frame, and metal brake wheel.
